Kia Motors to give $300,000 for Hurricane Relief

In the wake of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma which impacted thousands of people in Texas and Florida, Kia Motors pledged $300,000 to the American Red Cross for relief efforts. Kia Motors America pledged $200,000 and Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia added an additional $100,000.

“Kia is dedicated to supporting both individuals and communities in the aftermath of these historic storms, and these funds will assist the American Red Cross’ ongoing relief efforts,” said Justin Sohn, president and CEO, Kia Motors America. “Our thoughts go out to those affected, and we applaud the continued efforts of relief workers around the country in this time of need.”

Contributions to the Red Cross help provide food, shelter and other essential necessities to those impacted by the hurricanes. In Florida, more than 3,200 have been provided shelter by the American Red Cross. The Red Cross has provided more than half a million overnight stays and 747,000 meals and snack across six states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Kia Motors of America includes nearly 800 dealers in the United States including Grieco Kia of Delray Beach. Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia is the first manufacturing site in North America for Kia Motors Corporation.
